When God says "Go" and nothing else

When God says "Go" and nothing else

Take Heart Shop

Imagine this scene:

God: Claire?
Claire: Yes, Lord?
God: Quit your job. Then open a coffee shop. In one year, I’ll bless you so much you’ll make over 30k a month. It’ll be one of the most prosperous businesses in your area.
Claire: Oh wow! Thank You, Lord! Okay!

Sounds exciting, right?

But if you know Scripture, you probably felt this isn’t quite how God usually works. If we were to rewrite that scene with a more biblical lens, it might go like this:

God: Claire?
Claire: Yes, Lord?
God: Quit your job.
Claire: And then what?
Claire: Lord?... Hello?...
(Silence)

That silence is where faith begins.

When God called Abraham, He said, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.” (Genesis 12:1)

Not a map. Not a timeline. Just: go.

  • When David was anointed king, he didn’t walk into the palace the next day. He spent over 10 years fleeing from Saul. Waiting, trusting, hiding, worshiping... before God's promise came to pass.

  • When Noah was told to build an ark, he did it without ever having seen rain.

  • When Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, they didn’t know the Red Sea would part,  they only knew God said, Go.

God does not always hand us the full plan. He gives us the next step.

Because:

"For we live by faith, not by sight." 2 Corinthians 5:7

Take heart. If God has asked you to do something, and it feels incomplete, scary, or unclear, trust Him anyway. He will never leave you or forsake you. He’s not asking you to see the full picture. He’s asking you to follow Him.

So…

What has the Lord asked you to do? Are you hesitating, waiting for more clarity before you move? Pray. Ask for guidance. Then take the next step, even if it's just one. Because God is always with you. Even in the unknown.

"Lord, help me to trust You even when I can’t see the whole path. Give me the courage to take the next step, knowing You go before me. Teach me to walk by faith, not by sight, and remind me daily that You are always with me. Amen."
