Make time for God

Make time for God

  • 1 min reading time

"Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” Mark 1:35

I don’t know what your day looks like, but I can bet it carries a bit of the chaos we’ve all grown used to nowadays, especially if you have kids. Waking up early, preparing breakfast and school lunches, dropping the kids off at school, heading to work… the day flies by. And before we realize it, we haven’t made time for God, and our prayer life is gasping for breath.

We know the importance of prayer. We know how to pray. We want to pray. But sometimes we just… don’t.

Being transformed by the Word of God and living the life He designed for us doesn’t happen by chance. It requires intentionality. And that has everything to do with making time for God through prayer and reading the Bible.

God wants to speak to us, but He can't when we're too busy.

  • What causes you to resist praying?
  • What can you do to prioritize time with God in your daily routine?

Today’s devotional is an invitation and a reminder: make time for God. Don’t do it just to check another item off your to-do list. Make every effort to practice the spiritual discipline of prayer in 2026.

"Father, in the middle of busy days and crowded schedules, teach me to slow down and choose You first. Help me to be intentional with my time and faithful in prayer, not out of obligation, but out of love. Draw my heart closer to Yours and help me make space for You every day. Amen."
