What’s Blocking Your Joy?

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."
John 10:10
We all have ups and downs — in life, in a week, or even in a single day (right? 😅). And on our hardest days, it can be really challenging to find joy and feel content.
Yesterday, I was listening to a message from Joyce Meyer that really spoke to my heart, and I wanted to share a little bit about it with you. 💛
Most of our lives are made up of ordinary, everyday moments — which means we need to learn how to find joy even when things feel boring or mundane. Joy isn’t just for vacations, good news, or new outfits. God wants us to experience joy right in the middle of our routines. We need to understand the purpose the Lord has for us in every situation.
If you’re going to work just to earn a paycheck, it’s hard to enjoy it. But if you go with the mindset that God is using you there — that He’s planted you in that place for a reason — it changes everything. Your attitude and your words can turn things around more than you think.
One of the greatest secrets to enjoying life is finding something to be thankful for in every circumstance:
💛 Be thankful for the huge pile of laundry — it means your family has clothes.
💛 Be thankful for the mess your kids make — it means they’re healthy and active.
💛 Be thankful for your difficult boss — it means you have a job.
Here’s an interesting thought: maybe you don’t need to pray for joy. Maybe you need to ask God to show you what’s blocking your joy. Because if Jesus lives in you, joy is already yours.
We spend so much time asking for things we already have in Christ. Maybe it’s time to ask: “If I already have joy, why am I not walking in it?”
Real joy makes us smile even on the darkest day. So today, ask yourself:
What’s blocking the joy of Jesus in my life? Pray that the Lord will reveal it to you — and give you strength to remove those stones, one by one. And may everything we do be done for the glory of God. ✨
"Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God."
PSalm 42:5
"Father, thank You for being with me in every moment — not just the exciting ones, but the ordinary ones too. Teach me to recognize Your presence in the daily routines and to find joy right where I am. Help me shift my perspective, to see purpose in every task and to serve You with a grateful heart.
Reveal anything in my heart that’s blocking the joy You’ve already given me. May I live today, and every day, for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
