God Doesn’t Steer Parked Cars

But Jesus spoke to them at once.“Don’t be afraid,” he said.“Take courage. I am here! (Matthew 14:27)
Like Peter, we often long to walk in the miraculous but stay glued to the safety of our boats... our routines, our excuses, our comfort zones. Too many of us live as lukewarm Christians, waiting for God to move while remaining stationary ourselves. But Scripture repeatedly shows: God steers what’s willing to move. He redirected Paul on the road to Damascus, not while he was sitting still. He led Abraham as he walked away from home, not before.
We want divine direction, but resist divine disruption. We wait for the perfect sign, the perfect timing, the perfect feeling, while secretly hoping God will move us without requiring anything uncomfortable. But faith without action isn’t faith, it’s spiritual stagnation.
“Because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth”. (Revelation 3:16)
That’s not just a warning... it’s a wake-up call. God didn’t save you for safety. He called you to step! Not sit.
The truth is, the miracle happens after the movement. Peter didn’t walk on water by thinking about it, he stepped out. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to move. Take the first step in faith, and trust that God will meet you there, guide you there, and steer you from there. He can’t direct a parked car, but He lovingly leads those who dare to roll forward in obedience. ❤️
Let's stop worrying and take action. We're not alone in the unknown. The same Jesus who calmed the storm is with us, waiting for our first step. Let today be the day we stop hesitating, postponing and start moving.
👉 What is one step of faith you can take this week?
Write it down and place it somewhere visible as a daily reminder. (I put mine next to my laptop.)
"Lord, give me the courage to step out in faith, even when I don’t see the whole path. Help me to trust that You are with me, guiding each move. Stir my heart out of comfort and into obedience. I don’t want to stay lukewarm. I want to follow You boldly. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
