Choosing Contentment in a World of Comparison

Choosing Contentment in a World of Comparison

Take Heart Shop

"For you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way?" 1 Corinthians 3:3

It's human nature to be jealous of what someone else has. It's also human nature to compete with others and want to be right. When our hearts are discontent and full of envy, how hard it is to rejoice with those who have exactly what we've been praying for, right? Yep, I've been there a couple of times. But God calls us to let go of our human nature and take on the characteristics of Christ.

Why does it matter who makes more money, has a nicer home, or has better-behaved children? We know that we do not belong to this world, so let's keep our eyes on doing our best to honor Christ. God has called each of us to be His ambassadors, representing His cause, and He has placed us exactly where He can best use us. So, be content!

When we're envious of another's place in life, we cling to our human nature, which only holds us back in our heavenly journey.

🎶Like the song says, let's declare:🎶

"You are Jireh, You are enough
Jireh, You are enough
And I will be content in every circumstance
You are Jireh, You are enough."

"Dear Father, please remind me, daily, that though You bless us all differently, You do bless us all. Forgive me for feeling jealous and competitive of others and help me to be content in every circumstance. Amen."
