Before the Answer Comes, Worship
Take Heart ShopShare
Before the answer comes, before the battle is won, lift your voice. Sometimes, the most powerful prayer isn’t a request, but a song of trust in the One who never fails.
In 2 Chronicles 20:21–22, we learn how King Jehoshaphat appointed singers to lead the army in praise to God before a battle. As they sang, "Give thanks to the Lord, for His love endures forever," God caused the enemy armies to be defeated.
One cannot overstate how important it is for a Christian to sing praise to the Lord. When we worship, we shift our focus from ourselves to the Almighty. We are reminded that we are nothing without Him, and can do nothing apart from Him. Yet how often we forget that, trying instead to take control of our own situation.
So today’s devotional is an invitation.
If you are…
- In the waiting room, hoping for a miracle
- Facing a harsh diagnosis
- Standing before uncertainty
Praise!
Give thanks to the Lord, for His love endures forever.

"Lord, when I am overwhelmed, teach me to praise You first. Remind me that You go before me in every battle. Help me shift my eyes from fear to faith, from problems to Your power. I choose to worship You, even when it feels unnatural, because Your love endures forever. Amen."
