A new year is approaching, and with it come new plans, new expectations, and new dreams. It’s amazing how a fresh start can renew in us the desire to do things right, fulfill dreams, and achieve new goals.
God wants us to pursue our dreams—He created those dreams, after all. But we must balance them with practical action. Praying without taking steps toward a goal may leave us feeling stuck and unproductive.
As 2025 unfolds, may you be diligent in working toward your goals, trusting the Lord while faithfully doing your part.
To help you align your plans with God’s purpose and make wiser decisions, here are 3 essential tips for making better plans in 2025:

Seek God’s wisdom and direction in the plans you make. One reason people often feel dissatisfied is that their plans may not align with God’s will. “We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps.” (Proverbs 16:9)

Surround yourself with wise and godly people, and seek their counsel. “Plans are established by seeking advice; so if you wage war, obtain guidance.” (Proverbs 20:18)

Be discerning about whom you share your plans with. A dear pastor once gave me this advice, and I have never forgotten it: trust your dreams only to those who truly love you and will pray with you. “The wise don’t tell everything they know, but the foolish talk too much and are ruined.” (Proverbs 10:14)
And remember: All things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose!
Heavenly Father, thank You for this year and everything I have learned through it. My life belongs to You, and You are in control. In 2025, help me to dream Your dreams and make plans that align with Your will. Guide me in every decision, and help me to honor You in everything I do.
