I came across this statement recently:

Jesus died for us in public.
Don’t live for Him in private.

The more I think about this, the more I’m convicted that I’m not giving all I can to God. It’s so easy to get comfortable with our lives, our mundane problems, and completely forget about where we’re going to spend our eternal life. We have so little time, and there are so many people who do not know the Lord.

So, I invite you to reflect and take action: what can we do to publicly live out our faith? 

Here are 3 ideas to boldly share Jesus:

1) Wear your faith

That’s the very reason my husband and I founded Take Heart Shop, a Christian apparel store. To allow people to effortlessly share a portion of the Gospel. We pray that while you’re wearing the Word of God, the Holy Spirit may convict whoever encounters you about God's truth.

2) Open your mouth and speak Jesus

When we talk about preaching the Gospel, there is no such thing as “waiting for the right time.” In 2 Timothy 4:2–3, we read:

“Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.”

The NVT version says: “Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not.”

We do not know what’s going to happen tomorrow, not even in the next minute. Let’s make the most of every opportunity. (I’ve lost count of how many times I missed an opportunity to show God’s love to someone near me, and I’m definitely ashamed of it ☹️.)

If you’re worried about not being prepared to share Jesus, know that the Lord looks for an obedient and willing heart, not the most knowledgeable one. Although it is important to be prepared (as the aforementioned verse from Timothy says), while you work on that, you can always use the next strategy...

3) Invite someone to church

A simple invitation to church can be the very thing a person needs. I’ve heard many testimonies of people being invited again and again, and eventually they said yes, and had their lives forever changed 🙌. Don’t give up. Keep inviting! Let them hear the Good News and pray that God will open their hearts as they hear the truth at your local church.

Friend, the clock is ticking. Let’s make Heaven crowded, one soul at a time. Our part is to plant seeds, and the Holy Spirit’s is to convict hearts.
